A bolster

The bolster of a knife is the metal part that reinforces and protects the handle in case of impact, and is also the point of balance of the knife. However, it can also be placed only at the head or at the tip. In addition, there are knives where the bolster is not present, which is called a full handle knife. The bolster also brings an additional aesthetic aspect to the knife. There are two types of steel at Arbalète Genès David. Brass and stainless steel.

Brass bolster (gold look)

To restore a shiny look to brass bolsters with a slight patina or oxidation, use Ouator or Mirror and scrub.

Stainless steel bolster (silver look)

The stainless steel bolsters of a knife do not require any maintenance because they are stainless and they do not move in time, they remain as they are.
