How to maintain the handle of your knife?

Horn tip, horn and antler handles

These are natural materials. The handle does not get wet, otherwise it can end up swelling and splitting. Horn is made of keratin, like feathers, nails. That's why there is a wide variety of colors and why this beautiful material requires minimal maintenance.

A G. David crossbow knife with a horn handle (no matter what kind of horn it is) should not be soaked in water or run under the tap.

Aluminium, stainless steel and acrylic handles

The handles are made of French or exotic woods

Wooden handles are more resistant to moisture. However, we advise you to avoid getting it wet.

The handle: Use a damp cloth to clean the handle of your knife, then dry the handle directly.

Wood: If the wood becomes dry and/or dull, use a soft cloth with olive oil on the handle to nourish the wood and give it a brighter patina.

Aluminum, stainless steel and acrylic handles are resistant to being wet.

You can therefore clean the handle of your knife with a wet sponge, IDEM for the blade.

In any case, you must wipe them after use.
